The Göteborgs stadsmuseum holds a cement copy of the original sandstone font from Revesjö parish church [NB: the font was probably deposited in the Museum for a period of time, hence the copy there]. The original font is noted in Brusewitz (1975) and Hallbäck (1966). Described and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld' [920705F6] as a baptismal font made of sandstone, dated to the 13th century and belonging to a regional workshop. The monolithic font consists of a cylindrical basin with a chamfered underbowl, raised on a squat cylindrical base; the upper basin side is decorated with an acanthus (?) vine all around; the sides below are covered in a variety of interlacing vines, with some quadrangular panel divisions also with different forms of foliage; the underbowl has a number of thin rib-like mouldings that may actually be rope mouldings, as well as a thick rope moulding below; the lower base sides are decorated with a rwo-strand interlace weave. The inner well of the basin has no drain hole and it is not lined.
