The entry for Norbury in Gastrell (1845- ) reports a chapel "in good repair" but of unknown dedication , and, "An Alabaster Font in this Chap.[el,] and Children Baptized by [the] Curate". This curate, adds Gastrell, served both Nurbury and nearby Pointon, though there was neither burial nor "the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper" at Norbury. The present Parish Church of St. Thomas may be the successor of the original chapel that apears to date to 1737, though the Parish history pages suggest there were a number of chapels one of which appears to date to 1511.
