Noted and illustrated in Thyra's 'Church and manor in Denmark' [http://thyrashm.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html] [accessed 26 September 2010]: "Romanesque font with lion figures ; two baptismal bowls 1) south German from the end of the 1500s, 2) a larger bowl with engraved ornaments and inscription:" C I F. A I D. 1720"." [NB: the 'bowls' are the metal inserts used on top of the font for baptism]. Hemispherical basin decorated with four (?) medallion-like roundels with inscribed motifs, motifs also in the spandrels; roll moulding at the upper rim; the base is round to square, with a roll moulding at the neck, human heads at the spandrels/angles, and semi-circles with inscribed lions in them. [to be completed]. The font is now located at the east end of the nave, by the left (north) side of the chancel arch, not its original position.
