On-site notes: baptismal font made of granite, consisting of a roughly hemispherical basin raised on a round-to-square of later date; the sides of the round basin are decorated with two bi-corporal lions and, between their rumps, and holding their tails are a bearded man showing his erect penis, and another figure, possibly a female, in the same position, but apparently fully dressed [NB: it is difficult to discern in the coarse granite carving, whether the pattern on the skirt is ornamental or part of her genitalia]. There is no lid, nor are there any traces of cover hardware on the basin. The metal basin insert used for baptisms is late 16th-century, made in the south of Germany; it rests on a bed of sand that fills the inner basin well of the font [we were unable to check the depth of the basin and whether or not there is a drain hole in it]. The font is now located at the east end of the nave, on the south side, across from the pulpit and just west of the chancel arch. Inside the porch or 'våbenhus' is a large stone believed to be of the 10th to 12th century with an inscription in Futhark Runes transcribed as: "hala risthi stin thansi litu son ift aslf bruthur sin" [i.e.: Halla, son of Litu, erected this stone for his brother Aslef [or Aulv]]. A 14th-century fresco of St. Michael was uncovered in the 1950s renovation of the church.
