Font Notes:
Bettley & Pevsner (2007) report: "The medieval parish, Church of St. Nicholas [...] was demolished c. 1735". The British Listed Buildings database entry for Brentwood St. Nicholas' [http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-373382-church-of-st-nicholas-brentwood] [accessed 23 Seoptember 2010] notes: "The church [Brentwood St. Nicholas'] was built in 1734, consecrated 1736, to replace 2 medieval parish churches closed by Act of Parliament, St Nicholas', Ingrave, one km to the N, and St Nicholas', West Horndon, 2.5 km to the S from which some fittings were transferred." It does mention a font in Brentwood [i.e., Ingrave St Nicholas']: "font, octagonal bowl with quatrefoiled panels and moulded rim and base, early C16", but it does not specify where it came from. Was it the font at West Horndon at the time? [NB: we have no information on its medieval font]
