The present font is noted in Bettley & Pevsner (2007): "Font. Octagonal, stone inlaid with marble, on a central stem and eight small marble shatfs. Painted wooden cover with elaborate wrought-iron lifting frame, the counterweight in the shape of a dove." [the odd cover system consists of two tall metal poles that rest on the rim of the basin and sustain the font cover and its dove-shaped counterwight in between them]. [NB: several re-buldings have left nothing of the medieval church; we have no information on its font].
