Holy-water stoup noted in the parish web site [http://www.allsaintsspringfield.co.uk/All_Saints_Church/History2.html] [accessed 20 September 2010]: "In 1926, a Holy water stoup was discovered in the rectory gardens. It has been dated as 12th Century, making it a pre-reformation relic; a time when the church was under Papal jurisdiction. It is on display on the sill of the southwest window." This same source also notes: "The first stone church was built in 1066 by the request of Ralph de Peverell, the son of William the Conqueror." The stoup may have belonged to that church. [cf. Index for the 13th-century baptismal font in this church]
