An object seen in use as a garden planter in a private garden at Sta. Cruz de Campezo, Alava; the round tub-shaped basin appears to have been originally a baptismal font of the 12th or 13th century, decorated, as many in the area of Cantabria, etc., with saw-tooth all around the upper side. Original location unknown. [NB: the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora [aka Iglesia de la Asunción de Nuestra Señora] is a building of the 14th century, although there are traces of late Romanesque influence in the exterior details; the town itself was already a fairly important centre by the 12th century, and must have had an earlier church]
