There are two entries for Walton [-on-Thames] [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/TQ1066/walton-on-thames/] [accessed 21 December 2015], one of which mentions a church in it. Allen (1831): "The font is a small modern marble basin". The Victoria County History (Surrey, vol. 3, 1911) notes: "In 1086 there was a church on the land of Richard de Tonbridge, afterwards called the manor of Walton Leigh, and the advowson belonged to the lords of this manor. [...] The earliest church for which evidence exists consisted of an aisleless nave, with a chancel of about the same size as at present. About 1160 a north aisle was added [...] There is an octagonal panelled font, dated 1845, and all the rest of the fittings are modern." [NB: we have no information on the medieval font(s)]
