On-site notes: baptismal font of the 'Paradisfunt' [Paradise font] type, originally made in Gotland; this one consists of a hemispherical basin decorated with a blind arcade on the sides; the arches are of the type that resemble a transition to a ribbed pattern, the arch-heads resting of very slender columns with circular, button-shaped capitals and no bases; there is a thin roll moulding at the upper rim providing a groove on the upper surface of the basin; the lower piece is roughly conical, with a characteridtic splaying lower base; at the upper end, a pronounced plain ring moulding that has suffered some damage. There is no font cover and there are no staples or anchors, nor traces of them for a cover on the basin itself. The basin has no drainage hole, nor is there any trace of there having been one earlier. The font is in a fair state of conservation and repair. [cf. Index entry for Flemhude No. 2 for a later wooden font (?) in this church]
