There is an entry for this Farleigh [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/TQ3760/farleigh/] [accessed 22 March 2016], but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. Brayley (1850) notes: "The font is of stone, small, and rests on a round ornamented pillar". The Victoria County History (Surrey, vol. 4, 1912) notes: "There must have been a church at Farley at or soon after the compilation of the Domesday Survey. Judging by the style of the western doorway, a date about the close of the 11th century suggests itself, at any rate for the building of the first stone church. [...] The western doorway (fn. 20) is a good example of plain work of the last quarter of the 11th century"; no font mentioned in the VCH entry.
