There is an entry for Peper Harrow [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SU9344/peper-harrow/] [accessed 21 October 2015], but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. Brayley (1850) notes: "The font, which is a small marble basin, standing upon a baluster column, is to be replaced by one in accordance with the other restorations." [NB: the "other restorations" were part of a set of alterations "under the superintendence of Aug. W. Pugin, architect", which Brayley mentions in the introduction to the church description -- the font noted at the time fits the description of a Restoration or Georgian vessel]. The Victoria County History (Surrey, vol. 3, 1911) reports that the original chancel of the medieval church dated back to the middle of the 12th century, now much renewed; the fittings, however, are described as modern. [NB: we have no information on the medieval font]
