The United Benefice of Cudham & Downe website [http://www.pcd.org.uk/history/downe_history.asp] [accessed 20 July 2010] notes: "The font [...] is undistinguished, probably local work. At some time its stonework has been defaced." The octagonal consists of an octagonal basin that appears plain except for a large scotia at the top of the underbowl chamfer; the rest of the underbowl has undistinnguishable motifs now; on a pedestal base.
