Bettley & Pevsner (2007) note: "Font. C14, octagonal with carved emblems of the Evangelists etc. Installed 1884; heavily restored." The Parish website [http://www.rayne-info.org.uk/church/history.htm] [accessed 20 July 2010] informs: "At the rear of the Nave, on the south side are two Fonts [...] The other, larger and currently in use, is a heavily restored 14th century font of carved stone. Depicted on it are the four symbols of Baptism, the Cross, the Hand of God, the Dove and the "IHS", the monogram of Jesus; also the Lion, Man, Eagle and Ox from the Book of Revelation." [cf.
