Noted in the Essex Family History website [http://www.essex-family-history.co.uk/northfambridgechurch.htm] [accessed 16 July 2010] as an unusual octagonal font. The present font, illustrated in the Essex Churches website [www.essexchurches.info] [accessed 16 July 2010] appears hexagonal and modern, de basin sides decorated with charged shields and Tudor (?) roses; the lower basi is square, of modern appearance too, but carved as if it were the base of an old re-used font, with traces of bases for columns at the angles. [NB: the church itself may not go back further than the mid-18th century]
