The Parish website [http://www.bananas.me.uk/comping/church/hist.html] [accessed 6 July 2010] notes: "Near to the Tower Arch is the octagonal stone font, the cover of which was given in memory of Mr Harry Linefan Hodgkins by his wife after his death in 1917." This modern font may date from the renovation of the older church by A.W. Blomfield, which replaced most of the old building except the tower. [NB: we have no information on the font from the old church]
