Church Notes: The church is said to have been founded by Sancho Ramirez ca. 1070/1080; later a priory church -- This is a confusing church because, as Garcia Omedes notes [http://www.romanicoaragones.com/0-Jacetania/71-Lasieso2.htm] [accessed 11 September 2019], it is made up of two yuxtaposed churches, as well as a 18thC re-building when an abbey was added to it/them

The second of two fonts kept now [June 2010] inside this church; it consists of a plain cylindrical basin raised on a short and plain circular pedestal base. [NB: local information suggest that it may have been brought into the church from an abandoned nearby church; another source, Garcia Omedes notes [http://www.romanicoaragones.com/0-Jacetania/71-Lasieso2.htm] [accessed 11 September 2019] suggests it may have been used to store tithe offerings [cf. picas d'oli in Val d'Aran] but the drain hole argues against this possibility -- a more liely explanation may be that this font was badly damaged [cf. ImagesArea for the view of the repair] and was replaced by a later font. [cf. Index entry for Lasieso No. 1 for the other ancient font in this church]
