This object is wall-mounted on the wall opposite the entrance, and is said to be a pre-Romanesque font (or stoup?), but we do not know whether it was originally a free-standing vessel or was meant to be imbedded as it now is. The front side, the only one visible now, has a row of columns with torsade and rope motif, as well as rope motif at the extreme sides. Augusto Guedes de Castro suggests this 'font' could be originally from the earlier church of Santa Maria de Poreño [www.jmrweb.es/videopaisajes/?p=2562] [accessed 22 January 2021].
