There is an entry for Rushock [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://domesdaymap.co.uk/place/SO8871/rushock/] [accessed 22 September 2014], but it mentions neither cleric not church in it. Miller (1890) notes the church here "was formerly a chapelry of Chaddesley Corbet"; he mentions no font in it. The Victoria County History (Worcester, vol. 3, 1913) reports: "The chapel of Rushock was consecrated by Bishop Giffard in 1285. [...] It was dependent on the church of Chaddesley Corbett, [...] and the rector of Chaddesley was patron until 1389 or later. [...] There is a tall octagonal font of uncertain date, with trefoiled panels and a shallow bowl [...] Built into the tower walls are also a few carved stone fragments of an earlier church, probably that known to have been consecrated in October 1285." Brooks & Pevsner (2007) mention a "tall font with recessed ogee panels", but do not suggest a date either. The font is of the single-volume type, octagonal from the chamfered upper rim to the bottom; the panels are deeply carved, pointed on the outside and trefoiled on the inner arch; as the previous authors indicate, it is difficult to date and it could perhaps be a re-carving of an earlier font. The wooden cover is octagonal and flat; modern.
