There are two entries for this Wick [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://domesdaymap.co.uk/place/SO9645/wick/] [accessed 15 October 2014], neither of which mention cleric or church in it. Miller (1890) writes: "The church, a chapelry of St. Andrew's, Pershore, is dedicated to St. Laurence. There are ancient features in this church", but does not mention a font in it. The Victoria County History (Worcester, vol. 4, 1924) has the church at Wick as dedicated to St. Bartholomew, with a footnote that indicates it was thought to have been dedicated to St. Laurence: "The font appears to be an ancient one, rechiselled and has a modern inscription cut round the top. It consists of a plain circular tub-shaped bowl on a moulded base." Brooks & Pevsner (2007) write: "Norman font, much renewed; nice cover by J.N. Comper, 1949."
