Noted in Brooks & Pevsner (2007): " Octagonal, Perp[endicular], quatrefoils on bowl and stem." Miller (1890) notes that much of the older work in this church is of the 15th century, but "the font is modern." English Heritage [Listing NGR: SP0419847759] (1959) reports: "font in nave, C15 octagon font with quatrefoils on octagonal pier". The underbowl chamfer is graded; on an octagonal plinth. The wooden cover octagonal and flat, but has flat cross relief on top; appears modern. The church itself must date from before 1288, as that date is given in Miller (ibid.) for "Petrus le Meare", the first recorded vicar here.
