Noted in the Enciclopedia del románico en Castilla-La Mancha: Cuenca (2009). Noted and illustrated in Arteguias [www.arteguias.com/caceres/belvisdemonroy.htm] [accessed 20 April 2010]. Baptismal font consisting of a roughly hemispherical basin decorated with wide ribs all around, a set of round arch-heads over the top of the ribs; at the top of one of the ribs, a few inches from the upper rim, is a pair of metal anchirs that may have served to secure the font cover in the past; the top of the squat round base appears to be part of the basin block, and there is a lower volume, round as well, decorated with a double roll moulding. The font is of a design common in the area from the 12th century, though this one is probably of the 13th or 14th century.
