St Michael's [on Wyre] appears mentioned in the Domesday survey entry for Preston [http://domesdaymap.co.uk/place/XX0000/poulton-le-fylde-and-little-poulton/] [https://opendomesday.org/place/SD4641/st-michaels-on-wyre/] [accessed 29 March 2019]; the entry reports three churches in it, one of which may have been St Michael's. Whitaker (1823) reckons: "This is evidently the Michelscherche of Domesday [...] one of the three Saxon churches in Amounderness [...] Of the Saxon Michelscherche, as might be expected, is not a vestige remaining. The present building is a complete restoration, with all the characteristic features of Henry the VIII's time" [i.e., 1509-1547]. The Victoria County History (Lancaster, vol. 7, 1912) notes a modern font in this medieval church. [NB: the original church was probably pre-Conquest, and there is documentary evidence of its advowson being in the hands of the lord of the wapentake between 1190 and 1200, but we have no information on the its medieval font(s)].
