There is an entry for this Clifton [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://domesdaymap.co.uk/place/SO7161/clifton-on-teme/] [accessed 22 October 2014], and it reports a priest in it, but not a church, though there probably was one here. Miller (1890) notes the restored 13th-century church, but mentions no font in it. The Victoria County History (Worcester, vol. 4, 1924) notes a nave of the early-13th century, and a south aisle, where the font is located, of ca. 1300: "The sandstone font has a deep hexagonal bowl, with slightly curved sides, diminishing in size towards the stem, and a projecting upper edge with a hollow moulding; the bowl is probably of the 13th century, and the short octagonal stem, with square base and angular stops, of the 14th century." Noted in Brooks & Pevsner (2007) as 13th-century, but "much renewed".
