Anderson (1864) informs the church here appeared in the 1291 taxation. Newman & Pevsner (2006) report "the aisled C12 nave was shorn of its aisles in the C18"; "Font. Perp[endicular]. Octagonal, with quatrefoils on the faces. Panelled stem and flared foot." The font is raised on an old polygonal plinth of the type with two levels of steps. The wooden cover is low dome octagonal; appears Victorian. [NB: we have no information on the earlier font of this church]
