An early chapel affiliated to Ellesmere, and later a parochial church, is reported here in Andreson (1864). Newman & Pevsner (2006) described the font here: "Rich and complicated, carved much foliage and enlivened with pink marble shafting." Newman & Pevsner (ibid.) further note that the "medieval church had been replaced in 1788 by an elegant little Neoclassical church." [NB: we have no information on the medieval font]
