Noted in Edwards (1883), with reference to the 19th-century re-building of the church: "The old church was taken down in February 1870, and rebuilt by September 6th, in the same year […] The old octagonal font, with its Tudor flowers, was repaired and retained". The RCAHM (Montgomery, 1911) mentions a holy well northwest of the church, from which the baptismal water for the font was drawn. Noted in the RCAHMW [http://www.coflein.gov.uk] [accessed 27 April 2010]: "Within the church there is a medieval font". A plan of the church interior in 1868-1870 shows the font located at the west end of the nave, on the south side, just west of the south entrance.
