There is entry for this Tibberton [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://domesdaymap.co.uk/place/SJ6820/tibberton/] [accessed 1 October 2014], but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. Anderson (1864) reports the chapel here was "an ancient foundation". Newman & Pevsner (2006) note a medieval church replaced by the new church of 1842. [NB: we have no information on the medieval font]
