Anderson (1864) notes the fhe first reference to Pope Nicholas taxation of 1291. The font is noted in Newman & Pevsner (2006): "Font. Plain tub, of the C12?". The basin is bucked-shaped, the only ornamentation being the pattern of the adze-work all around; on a round lower base and a circular plinth with kneeling stone. The wooden font cover is flat and round, with metal decoration and ring handle; modern. Modern too are the two elements of the base of the font.
