Anderson (1864) notes a church here in the 1291 and 1341 tax valuations. Newman & Pevsner (2006) note a church "built to replace a small medieval church in 1845-6"; in it: "Font. Circular, in a very elaborate imitation Norman with figure scenes". [NB we have no information on an earlier font here]
