Anderson (1864) writes: "From the French chronicle of Wigmore, we learn that Kinlet church was given by John de Brompton to that abbey (1179)". Newman & Pevsner (2006) report "a lavish set" of fittings from the 1892-1893 restoration of the church by J. Aldrid Scott, among which a neo-Norman font. [NB: we have no information on the original font of the early church]
