Baptismal font consisting of a hemispherical basin decorated only with a row of round arch-heads around the upper basin sides, raised on a plain cylindrical pedestal. The entry for this church in the German Wikipedia [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freiberger_Dom] [accessed 31 August 2025] notes an 800-year old originally from the church of nearby Hirschfeld baptismal font; it is Martin Luther's wife, Katharina von Bora, is said to have been baptised: "Im Kreuzgang steht ein 800 Jahre altes romanisches Taufbecken aus Stein,[23] das aus der rund 15 km entfernten Hirschfelder Kirche[24] stammt, und in dem Katharina von Bora, die Ehefrau von Martin Luther, getauft worden sein soll."
