The entry for this site in the Enciclopedia del románico [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/asturias_NEMBRO.pdf] [accessed 30 August 2025] notes that, although the church itself can be dated to the 13th century, the font appears to be a crude local piece of uncertaing date: "es dudosa la datación románica de la pila bautismal conservada en el interior del templo de Nembro, que más bien parece una obra de carácter popular de difícil adscripción cronológica." Cylindrical baptismal font made of limestone; the only decoration is a broad upper rim, which has an incised groove on the side and another on the top, and another moulding at the very bottom of the basion; central drain hole; rests directly on the ground. Local sources [cf.Credit area below] claim different origins of the font: some claim it was the original font of the nearby Iglesia de San Jorge, destroyed in the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939); others that it may have been the font of the Iglesia de San Miguel, also nearby; finally some reckon it belonged to the former building that was replaced by the present church, Santa Eulalia; the latter has a 12th-century Romanesque portal, which date probably suits the font]. The font is located in an annex to the church; the font is disused and kept in poor conditions, covered in old sacks, etc.]
