Noted and illustrated in the Parish website [http://vorfruesogn.folkekirken.dk/index.php?id=18086] [accessed 10 April 2010]: "The church is situated on a mound whose low western spur was fortified by the powerful nobleman Esbern Snare c. 1170 against attacks by Wendic pirates [...] The granite font, carved by a stone mason who worked for other members of the Esbern Snare family, dates from the time the church was built." The font consists of a hemispherical basin decorated with a rope moulding at the upper rim, and an ondulating vine with palmette-like designs and dots; the round-to-square pedestal base has a rope moulding at the upper end, and foliage motifs on the sides. The glass (?) cover is modern.
