Listed and illustrated in Danmarks Kirker [http://danmarkskirker.natmus.dk/uploads/tx_tcchurchsearch/kob_amt_1267-1755_02.pdf] [accessed 12 December 2024] as a baptismal font made of bronza and dated 1602; the DK notes the foundry stamp on it is unknown, but the coats of arms are idenified as those of Frederich Gotske and Jacop Wind. The DK entry notes two other fonts, of granite, but it is quite likely they were acquired in the 19th century from elsewhere, one from a bricklayer and another from a Wulfsberg merchant, not belonging originally to the cathedral. On-site notes: bronze baptismal font dated 1602; it consists of a round basin with a pronounced lip rim, below which is an inscription with the Credo (Mark 16:16); moulded stem and wide round lower base that has four seated figures at 90-degree angles; three of the figures are almost identical, with well-cut beards but the fourth looks younger and has no beard; their identification is made clear by the right page of the book they each hold, clearly stating the Evangelist's name. [NB: there may have been a church in this location since the 10th century, but we have no information on its earlier font(s)].
