The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland (1868) reports a very old font in the ancient church of St. Michael at Ford, "or Fordsholme". Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales (1870-1872) reports an old font as well. Newman & Pevsner (2006) note a modern font by E. Haycock Junior, from the renovation he carried out in 1875 in this church. [NB: we have no information on the present whereabouts of the old font]
