Described and illustrated in the Nordelbische Evangelisch-Lutherische Kirche site for Bad Bramstedt [www.nordelbien.de] [accessed 5 April 2010] as an early-Gothic, 13th-century bronze baptismal font of the "Dreiträgertypus" [i.e., three supports] style; it consists of a bucket-shaped basin with two protruding rings [for securing the old cover] at the upper rim, a running inscription below; small figures of Christ holding a book alternate with tiny medallions inscribing the Evangelists' symbols, and there are thin mouldings on the sides; three standing figures support the basin.
