Noted in 'Gotische Bronzefünten in Nordostdeutschland' [http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gotische_Bronzef%C3%BCnten_in_Nordostdeutschland] [accessed 3 April 2010] as a bronze baptismal font made in 1486 by Peter Hansen, a chalice-shaped font raised on statues of the four Evangelists. The font consists of a roughly bucked-shaped basin raised on four human figures that hold books (?) and are identified by an inscription above their heads; at the upper rim is a human head that served as anchor for the lock of the original font cover; just below the rim is an inscription in German (?); in the centre of the basin sides is a scene of Christ in Majesty [are ther others on the other sides? [TBC]; around the bottom are three bands separated by thing mouldings; the upper line has the names of the Evangelists below and the rest of the space is filled with motifs, mostly rosettes; the two lines below contain an inscription in German; the four figures of the base are set at 90-degree angles looking outwards. No cover present. [cf. BSI entry for Nordebrarup No. 2 for the missing earlier granit font here]
