Tub-shaped baptismal font supposedly made of black basalt; it has two parallel mouldings at the upper rim, roll at the top, rope below; a blind arcade of round arches on the sides; the squat round base appears to be modern, made of multiple stones cemented together. The font, a crude and ireregular work, is now [2009] located in the main apse, east of the altar, obviously not its original location. Noted and illustrated in the German Wikipedia entry for Feldkirche (Neuwied) [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feldkirche_(Neuwied)] [accessed 30 August 2025]: "In der Apsis steht der romanische Taufstein aus schwarzem Basalt."
