Font Notes:
There is an entry for Cleobury [Mortimer] [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SO6775/cleobury-mortimer/] [accessed 31 January 2018]; it mentions a priest in it but not a church, though there must ghave been one there. Newman & Pevsner (2006) write: "Stoup. In the porch. With a big, rather flat head, like heads on the C15 churchyard cross at Highley." Noted and illustrated in The Sheela Na Gig Project : "Font or tub in the church porch which was found in a local garden." The object, whatever its origin, is being used as a holy-water stoup in the porch of the church.
