Eyton (1859- ) notes a baptismal font at Albrighton church. Anderson (1864) notes: "The ancient font in the present church [i.e., St. John's] is a relic of the former chapel". The 'Salopian shreds and patches' (issue of 15 October 1879: 234) reports on the re-opening of Albrighton Church on Sunday, 12 October 1879) and notes: "The old Norman font is preserved". Noted in Newman & Pevsner (2006): "A genuine Norman piece. Tapered tub with bold beaded chevron and a kind of upright petal motif below."
