Belinchon / Belinchón

Tthe Enciclopedia del románico en Castilla-La Mancha: Guadalajara (2009) notes similarities between the fonts at Romanillos de Atienza, in Guadalajara prov., and those at Belinchón and Fuertescusa in Cuenca province. The font in the church of San Miguel Arcángel de Belinchón is illustrated in El Arte en Cuenca [https://elarteencuenca.es/blog/iglesia/belinchon-iglesia-san-miguel-arcangel] [accessed 29 August 2025]; it consists of a crude basin of roughly cylindical shape raised on a short pedestal base, also round; both plain; it appears medieval. No cover present. A holy-water stoup is also illustrated in the same source: hemispherical basin with gadrooned sides, raised on a square baluster-shped pedestal base.
