Noted and illustrated in the Roughwood British Churches Album [http://www.roughwood.net/ChurchAlbum/Kent/Warehorne/WarehorneStMatthew2005.htm] [accessed 15 February 2010]: "The font is a 17th century bowl on a 19th century base and surround." The basin is square and plain, with an irregular chamfer that may have been a re-cut; on a square stem with chamfered angles, and a square lower base. The wooden cover is also square, with a cross finial/handle; appears modern. Glynne (1877) does not mention a font in this church. [NB: the fabric of the church may go back to ca. 1200, but we have no information on the earlier font(s)]
