Noted and illustrated in the Roughwood British Churches Album [http://www.roughwood.net/ChurchAlbum/Kent/StMaryInTheMarsh/StMaryInTheMarsh2005.htm] [accessed 15 February 2010]: "The font is octagonal on a plain column and has a wooden lid." Both basin and stem are octagonal and plain; raised on a quadrangular plinth of multiple stones and modern appearance. The octagonal pyramidal cover is modern as well. [NB: part of the tower is Norman, but we have no information of an earlier font in this church]
