Described in Glynne (1877) : "The font has a square bowl, all cased in wood, on an octagonal stem and four circular shafts, set upon a square plinth." The present font is not the one seen by Glynne ca. 1877; it is modern, in neo-13th century style; basin square at the top set on five shafts with moulded capitals and bases; dog-tooth pattern around the upper surface of the basin; small carved medalions on the sides of the basin. The wooden cover is round and flat, with carved top and metal handle; also modern. [NB: we have no information on the font seen by Glynne [cf. supra]]
