Noted and illustrated in Smith & Harris (2007) [http://genuki.cs.ncl.ac.uk/DEV/Georgeham/GeorgehamChurch.html] [accessed 5 February 2010]: "A stone font from this period [i.e., 13th century]lays to the right of the Altar. There is one iron staple of the font remaining […] It was found outside the north wall in 1966." The object appears square inside and out, with plain vertical sides; as mentioned above, a large metal staple remains at the upper rim.
