A note in The Ecclesiologist (no. VIII (1846) : 87) informs: "The leaden bowl of the ancient font of S. Peter, Hever, Kent, is lying as lumber; a new font, very small, and without drain or bowl, -in fact a mere pedestal for a basin,- having been provided." [NB: it is not clear whether the "leaden bowl" refers to the lining of the font (medieval?) or to a font actually made of lead]. There is no mention of a font in Glynne (1877)
