No entry found for Ovingham in the Domesday survey. Pevsner (1957) reports: "Font. Circular, on four shafts." A flat moulding at the upper basin side, and very simple mouldings on the clustered colonnettes of the base. The wooden cover is flat and round, modern, but the upper rim of the font has metal staples from an older cover system.
