The Antipope website [http://www.antipope.org/feorag/wells/hope/cumberland.html] [accessed 31 January 2010} quotes the text of Rev. J. Wilson in Pentrith Observer: "St. Kentigern's Well is still in statu quo, near the churchyard. Steps to this well were formerly constructed out of the relics of an [...] old font. The Rev. James Thwaites, a former rector, had these restored to their proper use".
