Reported by an excursion of members of the East Herts Archaeological Association to the area on 27 August 1873: "a broken Georgian
font is ignobly lodged in a shed" [source: http://www.ebooksread.com/authors-eng/1st-session--1889-1890-united-states-congress-51st/the-antiquary-volume-39-ala/page-56-the-antiquary-volume-39-ala.shtml [accessed 20 January 2010]]. The Victoria County History (Hertford, vol. 3, 1912) notes: "The church was extensively restored and altered in 1845, and in 1890 it was practically rebuilt. The chancel and possibly the nave walls were built in the 13th century, the north aisle and west tower being added in the 15th century", but does not mention a font. [NB: we have no information on the whereabouts of any of the fonts of this church]
